I expect you know that giving your time as a volunteer allows you to make your community stronger as well as helping people in need. The obvious problem is that arranging to be free to volunteer has been known to consume some of that valuable free time. And don’t you agree that if you had your co-workers volunteering alongside you you’d all have a better time? Responding to this issue, firms have begun making themselves into points of organization to help their employees support the community. A leader in this field is Adaptive Marketing LLC who developed financial benefits programs such as Passport to Fun (MVQ*PASSPRT2FUN). Company-supported volunteering is more than blood drives and once-a-year charitable giving. Athletic shoe recycling initiatives and more energetic efforts like tree planting days — these and others are among the activities that have been scheduled by Adaptive Marketing for its staff. By centralizing the organization individual initiatives grew into events, with specific locations, times and dates made public in advance to help those signing up with their time management.
It is important to let volunteers choose programs that fit their interests. At Adaptive Marketing, the company behind Passport to Fun (MVQ*PASSPRT2FUN), staff are given the chance to choose from a wide variety of volunteer projects. When looking for possible projects you see so many; taking part in the education of children, helping with environmental programs, or supporting local artistic projects to name but a few. The result is that Adaptive Marketing volunteers have the chance to use their time as efficiently as possible and enjoy joining in the process. A regular addition to their schedule or a single big event — these are the most common ways for a firm to organize volunteer initiatives like these, perhaps at a nearby homeless shelter or one of the local schools. No matter how little time you can spare, you’re sure to find some project to suit, which means time is no block against volunteering.
We’re sure you know a number of tales of organizations supporting the people who live around them. The activities of the employees at companies such as Adaptive Marketing spread precious goodwill around their home base. Assisting others can make you feel like a better person — just the sort of thing to motivate members of staff in both their volunteer activities and back behind their desks. Promoting volunteering among your employees can be its own reward.

Malignant mesothelioma is a rare cancer of the tissues that line the body’s internal organs. Nearly two thousand brand new occurrences are detected every year in the whole United States. Of this group, about75 percent of cases involve the sac around the lungs, called the pleura. This is known as pleural mesothelioma. In nearly ten to 20 percent of cases, mesothelioma could involve the tissue that surrounds abdominal organs, called the peritoneal membrane, generating what is then known as peritoneal mesothelioma.
Exposure to asbestos is absolutely the primary risk factor for this uncommon disease. Following exposure to asbestos, the time to progression of the mesothelioma disease might be two to four decades. Because of occupational exposure, cancer of the mesothelium is about 3 times more routine in men, than in women. Because the mass of occurrences moves upward with your age, there are about 10 times more cases in the males over age 64 than in the males in their midlife.
Getting Mesothelioma is a serious ailment, that, currently, has a very low degree of continuing endurance. Nonetheless, if it is recognized early, regimens are then in existence that might considerably stretch the patient’s life. New approaches continue to be and are being developed through clinical trials.

Luck or Providence? (C)
Terry Dashner…………………..Faith Fellowship Church PO Box 1586 Broken Arrow, OK 74013
One gentile ruler down and here comes another one. Just like God allowed it, no doubt.
Here comes Daniel’s leopard to pounce on the world. (The leopard is one of four gentile powers to rule over Israel throughout world history as stated in the Book of Daniel.) His name was Alexander. Let me tell you a little bit about him.
His father was Philip of Macedonia. He brought all of Greece under his rule just before he was assassinated in 336 BC. The great philosopher Aristotle tutored young Alexander. At 20 Alexander succeeded his famous father. Alexander defeated Darius III (558-486BC) in the Battle of Issus in 333 BC, the Persian Empire crumbled. By the time Alexander was 33, he ruled 50 times as much land and 20 times as many people as had existed in the empire he inherited from Philip. The territory included Greece, Egypt, all of the former Persian Empire and all of what we think of today as the Middle East.
Now the question I raise is this: How could a man (a young man at that) conquer that much territory in just 13 years if he had been guided simply by luck? He was not just fortuitous in his exploits. God allowed him to move swiftly across the world just like Daniel’s “leopard” because it was in His plan. (I hope I’m not being too dogmatic for you. Once again having survived 50 years on this planet, I’m convinced, more than ever, that God rules over the affairs of men.) “Even today” says Bill Yenne, “…almost two dozen centuries later, he [Alexander the Great] has barely half a dozen rivals to this achievement.
“However, the true importance of Alexander’s empire was that for the first time, there could be a free exchange of ideas between two different cultures. Unlike most other victorious leaders, Alexander was not only receptive to the ideas of his conquered peoples but adopted ideas he learned from Persian political organization. On the other hand, Greek art influenced the art of India. Before his untimely death of natural causes at age 33, Alexander also built the city of Alexandria in Egypt, whose great library survived for a thousand years and which evolved into the greatest center of learning in the world.”
So God used a Macedonian to spread Greek culture across the world. This exchange between cultures benefited the world and still impacts the nations of the world. It seems that God was all about spreading cultural ideas and disseminating knowledge. I believe that God detests ignorance, especially among His people. Ignorance does nothing more than bind up people, promote prejudice, darken civilizations, and slows progress. When Alexander finished his course, he was tossed aside. (God always gave His subjects great opportunities to humble themselves and live for Him. If rulers did that, they were sustained by the hand of God. If they exalted themselves, making themselves out to be gods, then God had one choice and that was to put them down and raise up another.)
Next on the scene of superpowers, was Rome. Rome was alluded to in the Book of Daniel as being the most terrible of all conquering powers that had come before her. Rome grows from a city on the Tiber River to become the dominant political force in Italy. And then a world empire. This, too, happened by supernatural guidance. It didn’t happen by luck.
The word “Punic” is derived from the Latin word Punicus, meaning Carthaginian, which itself is derived form the Greek word Phoenix, meaning Phoenician (proof of cultural borrowing and amalgamation of languages). Rome first comes to world dominance by defeating the superpower of the Mediterranean, Carthage. It will take three wars, but she does it and climbs to world-power status. That’s amazing. It was the Roman victory at the Battle of Zama in 202 BC which marked the beginning of the power of the Roman Empire that would continue to reign supreme for six centuries. Wow.
I will continue this study tomorrow. Remember, you could have been born at any time in history. But, God desired that you live today. What does that mean? You have been raised up by the Providence of God to serve Him today. This is a significant time in human history. Jesus is soon to return for His Bride, and you have been reserved for this end time event. That’s an awesome responsibility if you stop and think about it. It says that you should be busy about your Father’s business. You are to occupy the ground of faith until He comes. Don’t let Him come and find you sleeping on watch. Arise and tell the Good NewsJesus died for all that all men might live in God.
Keep the faith. Stay the course. Jesus is coming soon.

The recent scathing remarks by High Court Judge Richard Mawrey over the disgraceful actions of the six Labour councillors from Birmingham is something the city could well do without. The Judge went as far as to say that the recent electoral fraud would disgrace even a banana republic.
It transpires that the vote rigging was part of an organised campaign to steal, forge and/or alter thousands of postal votes to ensure that Labour did not suffer from another backlash against it over the Iraq war. The six candidates involved won the Bordesley Green and Aston elections through rigging the vote. The councillors involved are Mohammed Islam, Muhammad Agzal, Mohammed Kazi, Ayaz Khan, Shafaq Ahmed and Shah Jahan.
The councillors have been sacked from the Labour Party and ordered to pay the costs of the trial. A criminal trial may take place after the General Election. Judge Mawrey has decided not to burden the people of Birmingham with the court costs and has ordered that the shamed councillors foot the estimated £500,000 legal bill.
Incredibly there are no systems in place to prevent fraud. Signatures of voters are not checked against applications. Anyone who manages to get hold of a blank form can return it with a vote. The police are powerless to do much about it and whilst they have received large numbers of complaints about rigged voting incidents they have either been powerless to act or have lacked the time and inclination.
Now we hear that Parliament has threatened Birmingham with the prospect of international observers to monitor its elections. The UK faces the prospect of unsafe elections as fears of ballot-rigging on May 5th increase. Birmingham is not alone. There are ten major enquiries into vote rigging currently in progress. In Blackburn, council candidate Mohammed Hussain has been warned that he can expect a prison sentence. There are investigations in Manchester and Oldham. In Cheshire a Mayor has been arrested in a separate vote-rigging incident. Further investigations continue in Bradford, Burnley and Derby.
Have things really got this bad that we can’t even trust the voting process? Think Banana Republic - think Zimbabwee - think United Kingdom.

With elections on the horizon and Blair looking tired and increasingly defensive, just what is likely outcome of the next election? The New Labour adoption of Tory plans and policies has created an almost parallel party in terms of the Conservatives and Labour. Many people are confused and find it hard to tell them apart. The Labour Party will struggle to retain the loyalties of the staunch labour support it has enjoyed over the decades.
The wind of change is in the air. Does this mean that the defeat of labour is a foregone conclusion in the next election? Far from it - the Labour Party, whilst certainly experiencing a rapid decline in popularity is far from defeated. They are still likely to win the next election - but a week is a long time in politics.
Labour candidates will admit that Blair’s popularity is well down on previous levels prior to the Iraqi war. The recent doubts over the proposed new terror laws allowing suspects to be detained without trial has not helped. The accusations and continued exchanges between Tory and Labour over the NHS have not helped matters, any more than Blair’s attempts to win over the people with his misguided Television fiasco.
The Labour party have acted like true blue Tories in many respects. The very rich have got much richer under Labour. The gap between rich and poor, normally associated with a Tory government is very obvious under New Labour. People have noticed this. Old long term Labour supporters and their loyalty towards the Labour Party is starting to crumble.
Looking back over the last few months it is difficult to see what Labour have managed to get right. The National Education Targets for raising standards in our schools have been all but abandoned as Labour realise that this is neither an election winner or remotely likely of ever being achieved. The Iraqi war continues to be as unpopular as ever and with little chance of any quick fix. Leading up to the next election the bitterness between Tory and Labour leaders is likely to get worse rather than better.
Labour promised a better NHS and an improved education system. After years of Labour, the general perception is that nothing has changed. If anything it has got worse. These are serious issues for the Labour government that will cost them dearly in terms of votes. This election could be a close run thing after all.
So what is wrong with Britain? What are the big issues? Crime is still seen as a big problem in the UK. The NHS is in a mess. In some hospitals the number of nurses from overseas outnumber those from the UK. Our public transport is amongst the most dangerous and expensive in the world, the rich get richer, the minimum wages stay pitifully low and the number of immigrants show no real signs of decreasing in any great numbers. The immigration issue is already a political hot potato which will cost Blair even more votes.
So, who will you vote for when the time comes? If you stay at home then you can’t complain about who wins - Voting at least gives you that right!
